Whimsical Woods

Okay. I get it. Coles and Son's famous 'Woods' wallpaper is cool. Like, super cool. It's not that I have been living in some cave in northern Alberta, nor is it that I didn't like this great pattern the second I saw it. It's pretty much perfection with wallpaper paste.

But I just didn't want to admit to myself how much I love it and need it to be a part of MorganHouse. Nothing says I’M BORING, SAFE AND GO ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE like thinking the only option for decorating is following everyone else's lead. I hate to be one with the crowd.

And although I like to be a leader, not a sheep - isn't this wall paper awesome?!? I couldn't take it any longer, and decided that I need it for the back of my buffet and hutch. Or as fabric (yeahuh! Totally available in fabric now *heart*) for an occasional chair in our bedroom. But, did you know it's kind of expensive? Like... $198 for 50sf of paper? Humf. So now I'm left here to think of a way to get some of that pretty tree-lovin-goodness in my house, for about.. $25. Hopefully there will be progress posts to come.

Teenage Decorating

I have loved interior design for as long as I can remember - I was just telling my hubby last night that I used to rearrange my room constantly when I was younger. I also have always loved drawing. Well, put those two together, add some teenage angst, and here's what you get!

{Please don't judge me for the purple walls - I mean purple was, like, totally cool in grade 11.}

What did your teenage room look like?

Kitchen Art

Although our kitchen has been renovated for a long time (er, like 1 1/2 years...), it has never really felt complete to me. I wanted to bring in a little artwork and colour, but was unsure how to get a hint of colour yet preserve the general feeling of the room.

I grabbed my trusty scissors and got cuttin! Well, after I made blue pattern paper on the computer and printed it, since I couldn't find any scrapbooking paper I like (what do you mean I'm too picky?!) And, what do you think! Also a tiny peak at my kitchen - more photos to come, I promise.

Used Victoria - The Hunt!

There are so many wonderful things for sale on UsedVictoria right now that it makes me tingle. But, because I recently promised my husband that I would not bring home any furniture or "projects" (heh, who am I kidding - all my furniture finds are projects) until our spare bedroom was cleaned out, I thought I would pass on my most tingle-worthy items currently for sale

Pure luxe, for only $250

Three tables for only $295!! Super cute

Sabby chic table - $110

Lovely dresser from the 1800's for only $150

Amazing side table for only $75!!!

Okay, truth be told, that last item really reeeeally made me beg my husband. No bites. I wonder if they would take $40....

Nautical Cool

I’ve recently become obsessed (I never do things half fast) with the nautical look. It started with a fashion interest – but have quickly spread to interior design as well.

And what’s not to love? Crisp whites, bold navy, trendy stripes and a reason to use natural rope as much as humanly safe. Here are a few of my favourite nautical interior photos I’ve been lusting over – now what would work in *my* home?

Colour it Coral

Ever since getting the above ribbon in my possesion, I have been obsessing over why I don't already have some coral accessories in my house.

Here are a few rooms using coral that just make me love the colour even more!

Psst.... over here!

Ola! That's right, I've been up to something the past few weeks. I'll give you a hint....

Mexico!! I am now relaxed, happy and tanned (less white?) Sorry I didn't tell you, but you might have blabbed.

Rich and I

Instead of continuing business as usual at the Morgan Design Inc blog, instead I will taunt you, I mean show you what I've been up to.

Richard drunk (snicker snicker)

Me, Matti and Rich

In other news, my husband is now a cowboy!

Noah Matti and I doing the Marilyn pose

Did I ever mention I don't like birds? Or cats.

Wall Mounted Faucets - Fab or Fad?

I've recently fallen for wall mounted faucets - hard. With my family bathroom still under construction, and my sink and faucet yet to buy, I have to admit the idea of a wall mounted faucet is difficult to shake off.

Not all are expesive either - I found this one for $99.00 - a steal!

HomeDepot:Wallmounted Kitchen Faucet, $99.00

What do you think? Would you ever use these in your house, or do you think they are just a fad?
